USB 3 port 2-> Powered 7 port USB3 Hub w/ Presonus FaderPort, Softube Console 1, Midi KeyBoard, MidiGuitar Port, USB3 HD for TimeMachine. USB 3 port 1-> Apple USB2 keyboard w/2 usb ports, 1 for iLok, 1 for USB2 Trackball. USB C port 4-> Apple TB3 to TB2 converter->Apollo8 Quad->QuadSatellite->TB2 Chassis w/2 UAD Quad cards. USB C port 3-> 2 SSD’s (1 for files, 1 for system image) USB C port 2-> 2 SSD’s (1 for projects, 1 for samples) I have the new MacMini I7 6 core w/16GB, 512 SSD. If you have comments on that too, please let me know. P.S: I am aware of the usb-audio issues that was caused by the T2 chip, I have been reading that it is fixed. I am thinking of pulling the plug on 512gb SSD version and upgrade to 32gb RAM myself.īut does it perform as it looks on paper? Planning to use it as a Mixing computer, and just that. The new mac mini 2018 with 3,2 GHz 6‑core i7 looks very promising on paper. No problems with any BT devices connected to it. I do use a USB hub for iLok, wireless printer, etc.

I use the same Bluetooth mouse with my Mini and have never had a dropout. I switched to the cheapest wireless mouse I could find ($15.00 Logitech) and voila! connectivity problems went away. I had problems with a Magic Mouse losing connectivity on my cMP and after months of frustration recycled the damn thing. What do you guys think?Looks like problems with Apple's "Magic" devices, either trackpad or mouse, and having the Mini on a metal surface possibly affecting its antenna. Trying crazy DIY solutions not getting results, apple not fixing it. Not only BT(which i need for trackpad) but also people having wifi issues, dropouts. I just saw this thread Īnd this is not the only thread there are some on reddit and apple`s forum too.
Thanks for everyone that chipped in all sound good and I was pretty convinced on the performance side.
